Arkios completes the equity funding for Kalahari Energy Limited.

Arkios raised $9.2 million of equity for Kalahari Energy in January 2007 to fund the exploration and development of its coal-bed methane mining leases in the Kalahari desert in Botswana.  The leases involve some three million acres, with an indicated capacity of 13 trillion cubic feet of gas.

The company‘s objectives are to prove the extent of methane gas in its leases, create local power generating capacity and then transport the gas for use in the region.

Arkios raised the equity from a combination of institutions, family offices, private individuals and governments, helping to create an operating entity with considerable potential.
